Dear Readers,
In a world where the ability to read and write is often taken for granted, there are still millions of individuals who lack these fundamental skills. However, at St. Mary’s School Kalyan, we believe that education is the key to unlocking doors of opportunity and empowerment. That’s why we’ve embarked on a mission to combat illiteracy and spread the light of knowledge through our literacy initiatives.
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful realization – that every individual, regardless of age or background, deserves the chance to learn and grow. Through our involvement in the State Literacy Programme, we identified a pressing need within our community: the presence of adults struggling with illiteracy.
In one study, carried out by schools as part of the State Literacy Programme, we discovered about eighteen illiterate individuals in our vicinity. Out of which, we managed to establish contact with 8 adults. Despite the challenges they faced, two brave individuals stepped forward, eager to embark on a journey of learning and self-improvement.
Over the course of several sessions, our dedicated team of educators worked tirelessly to provide these individuals with the tools and resources they needed to succeed. Today marked a significant milestone in their progress – the Base Literacy and Number Knowledge Value Measurement exam. We are thrilled to report that the exam was conducted successfully, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers alike.
We were honored to have the head of the Cluster Resource Centre, Mrs. Bharati Onkareshwar, visit our school to inspect our literacy initiatives. Her presence served as a testament to the importance of our work and reaffirmed our commitment to empowering individuals through education.
But our journey towards literacy doesn’t end here. As we celebrate the successes of our adult learners, we remain committed to expanding our programs, reaching new learners, and advocating for the importance of education in transforming lives.
At St. Mary’s and its parent organization, Arya Global Group of Schools, we’re committed to viewing schools as more than just centers for the growth and education of our students. We see them as catalysts for community empowerment, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds to thrive and exchange knowledge.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend an open invitation to anyone seeking self-improvement and skill development. We are committed to supporting individuals in reaching their full potential and ensuring that their journey towards personal growth is facilitated.
Lastly, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the two candidates who successfully passed the Base Literacy and Number Knowledge exam. Your determination and resilience serve as an inspiration to us all. Together, let us continue to shine a light on the path to literacy and create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
