St. Mary’s High School, Kalyan creates several opportunities for its students to come together and express themselves through many programs and events and the culmination of this was a cohesive and well put together Annual Day event– ‘Connecting people, True Friendship’ that took place on the 21st April at 10 am.
Grand Viewership of the event-
The event took place virtually and was streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. The YouTube Live streaming got a commendable viewership of more than 2000.
Connecting people, True friendship-
The flow of the event was impeccable with both the Primary and Secondary students creating a grand display of dance, music, song and drama. The event began with a toe tapping Welcome song by the Primary students, followed by a classical dance presentation.
The theme resonated throughout the event where children displayed how technology helped them build new connections and stay in touch with friends. The theme unfolded brilliantly and motivated viewers to respects friendships, build togetherness, break superficial barriers of distance and time and stay in touch to create wonders.
Tons of Motivation and appreciation-
The speeches by members of the leadership team and the management were motivating. “We were all bound by a common goal- to continue learning and upgrading our skills. So, a special mention here to our teachers at St. Mary’s who have adapted to this new teaching methodology and have aligned themselves with the most advanced technologies”, expressed Dr. Mrs. Neelam Malik, Chairman of AryaGlobal Group.
Ms. Preetha Kumar, Head Mistress of St. Mary’s said “Education is more than what happens within the four walls of the classroom.” Dr. Vinda Bhuskute, CEO Admin stressed on how children learnt about ‘Acceptance’ a very mature emotion that requires mental stability and clear thoughts.
The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Gauri Kavi Mirajgaonkar, Proprietor of Swardhara Music Academy who teaches more than 1000 students and even more through her Music app- Swardhara. She appreciated the teachers and the management of St. Mary’s for the way they dealt with all the challenges of the pandemic to ensure continuous learning.
A well- deserved celebration of successes-
The various performances highlighted the spirit of collaboration among students as they put together a brilliant show remotely. Songs sung by the Choir group in various languages and multi-lingual skits pointed towards the idea that ‘we are one’.
The event ended on a high note with the song ‘Hum Honge Kamiyab’ – a tradition at St. Mary’s and the National Song, “Vande Mataram”
